40th Anniversary Event Details
Wintario had its first draw on May 15th, 1975 and was the first provincial lottery game in Ontario. Proceeds went to important community projects all across the province. Global Television televised the draws for many years, and there remains positive nostalgia from consumers regarding these broadcasts.
For 40 years OLG has passed on 100% of our proceeds to the people of Ontario, this year we are proud to help pass on the Pan Am / Para Pan Games torch too.
OLG is hosting a “birthday party” for Wintario in downtown Toronto filled with music, entertainment, and treats – open to the media and consumers. We’ll be giving away 20 pairs of Pan Am tickets through a draw. Plus, three members of the media will be invited to a skills challenge, with a chance to win money for a charity of their choice.
Yonge-Dundas Square. May 13th at noon.
Last year alone, OLG Gaming Centres gave back $132.5 million to their communities. This helped fund things like college and university campuses, hospitals, community centres, and charities. There are countless stories of how this money has touched the lives of people all over Ontario.
